Healthcare is increasingly being delivered and paid for in accountable care and value-based settings, and this new paradigm is resulting in new types of disputes among physicians, plans, hospitals, and other ACO participants. This article, which I co-authored with family physician Leonard Fromer, focuses on the structural and financial underpinnings of these new disputes and how best to resolve them through mediation and not litigation.
