In addition, Mr. Roth provides specialized assistance to other attorneys.

PRACTICE AREA OVERVIEW

The Law Offices of Michael Dundon Roth LLP maintains a transaction and litigation based practice representing health care providers. The emphasis of the firm’s health law practice is on matters of statutory and regulatory compliance, health care transactions and contracting, medical staff and peer review (which includes Mr. Roth serving as hearing officer and arbitrator at peer review proceedings), general business matters, reimbursement issues, and related civil/administrative litigation.  A significant part of Mr. Roth’s practice is focused on arbitrating and mediating disputes between health care providers, payors, and practitioners.

BACKGROUND

Michael Roth graduated from Boston College Law School in 1977.   Mr. Roth has written and lectured extensively on topical health law subjects for various health law and health care organizations. He has served in various leadership roles in professional, government and community organizations, including as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Health Lawyers Association (“Health Lawyers”), member and president of the California Department of Consumer Affairs Structural Pest Control Board, member of the North American Board of Trustees and Executive Committee of the Union for Reform Judaism (“URJ”),  and chair of  URJ’s West District (comprising 13 states and 3 Canadian provinces).  In 1991, Mr. Roth originated and served as co-chair and a faculty member of the Health Lawyers’ first program on medical staff issues.

Mr. Roth is included in Martindale-Hubbell’s exclusive Bar Register of Pre-Eminent Lawyers, a directory of law firms and attorneys designated by their colleagues as pre-eminent in their field. Since 1992, he has maintained the highest Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating (i.e., AV rated).   Mr. Roth is included in the 2008 edition of The Best Lawyers in America.  Mr. Roth is licensed to practice law in California, Texas, District of Columbia, and Massachusetts.

Sharon Roth (i.e., Mr. Roth’s spouse) graduated from Loyola Law School in 1989. She is licensed to practice law in California, and has been a member of the firm since 1991.
